Florida Chamber Legislative Update

On March 1 Governor Charlie Crist signed House Bill 7033 into law, which passed unanimously by the House and Senate on the first day of the 2010 legislative session. This bill will suspend a proposed Unemployment Compensation Tax increase on employers for two years. Without the passing of this legislation, employers would have seen an increase of $1.2 billion over last year's rates.
