The Cornerstone division of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce presented its annual international awards to two companies and one individual who have shown their continued commitment to the growth of international business in our region. The awards presented this year were for International Business Leader of the Year – Small Company, Large Company and Individual. The first award for International Business Leader of the Year – Small Company went to The Grimes Companies for their strength in the international logistics industry. The company provides manufacturers and distributors with storage, transportation, packaging and supply chain services. The Grimes Companies continues to be one of the region’s strongest supporters of growth in the logistics industry. The second award for International Business Leader of the Year – Large Company went to Rayonier because of its leadership in the international marketplace. Rayonier has three global core businesses in Timber, Real Estate and Performance Fibers, which serve nearly 40 countries. Together, this mix along with geographic and market diversity, consistently provides the company quality earnings and strong cash flow through the economic cycle. The final award for International Business Leader of the Year – Individual went to Roy Schleicher, chief of Commercial Services for JAXPORT. Schleicher’s dedication to bringing international business to Jacksonville and his work in expanding JAXPORT’s potential as an international port are only a few of the reasons he was selected for this award.
